Data centers for Amazon.com's Amazon Web Services (AWS) use over 6.5 million MWh of power per year, or roughly enough to power 600,000 US households(Calculation based on Greenpeace’s Clicking Clean report).
CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced in June 2015 that it planned to develop an 80 megawatt (MW) solar facility in Virginia, called Amazon Solar Farm US East. A month later, AWS revealed plans for a 208 MW wind farm in North Carolina, called Amazon Wind Farm US East.
